The selflessness and bravery Firefighters exhibit every day of their careers' puts them in a category all their own by putting their lives on the line for service to others; people they don’t even know.
This day in and day out heroism doesn’t just affect the danger they put themselves in every day, but the affects on their families knowing their hero is out there risking his safety every day. We at Quality Urns and Statues for Less understand how these brave men and women deserve to be honored and have come up with a line of Firefighter Urns that will do just that.
What is a Maltese Cross:
The Maltese cross have seven points of meaning as seen below:
It speaks to every quality our brave firefighter possess: Gallantry, Perseverance, Loyalty, Dexterity, Explicitness, Observation, Tact and Sympathy.
The exact origin story varies slightly but it is the consensus that it was created in Malta and was originally called the cross of Knights of St. John in the Eleventh or Twelfth Century who were not only known for their ability to fight fires but to attend to the sick and injured in battle. They were considered very brave and this symbol was worn on their arms during battle. Now the symbols on the Maltese Cross are a ladder, axes, helmet, fire hydrant and hose.
